One keypress. Tacit knows what you want to say
Press the hotkey, Tacit reads your screen and writes it for you. Pick, paste, done. No prompts to write. No commands to learn.
Three moves. That's the whole thing.
Press
One hotkey, anywhere on your Mac. The same key every time, nothing to set up in the moment.
Insert
Tacit reads the moment and drops in the right words, matching the tone, the context, the person.
Done
Paste-ready text lands at your cursor. Keep it, tweak it, or press again. No prompt, no cleanup.
Your screen stays yours.
- Tacit captures only when you press the hotkey, never in the background, never continuously.
- Your data stays on your Mac. By default Tacit reads your screen as text — a screenshot is sent with a request only when the window has no readable text, used once, never stored.
- Nothing you write or see is stored on our servers. Your history lives only on your Mac.
- The only thing that leaves is the single AI request you trigger, nothing more.
Simple plans. Honest usage.
Good questions.
When does Tacit look at my screen?
Only at the instant you press the hotkey. There is no background watching and no continuous capture, nothing happens between presses.
Where is my data?
On your Mac. Your history of what Tacit wrote stays on your device and can be cleared in the app, and there is nothing stored on our servers to expose. Tacit does not keep copies of your screen.
What leaves my device?
Only the single AI request you trigger with a press: your context as text and, when the window has no readable text, a one-time screenshot that is never stored. The words come back, and that's the end of it. Details are on the Privacy page.
